Wooden Boat Festival aboard Adventuress: Schooner Race, Saturday, Sept. 7
Event description
Step aboard the 106-year-old, fully restored schooner for a hands-on sail on Port Townsend Bay. Experience the joy of sailing this beautiful B.B Crowninshield-designed, Rice Brothers-built schooner operated by Sound Experience.
Adventuress will join the Salish Sea’s fleet of classic schooners to compete in the annual Schooner Race in Port Townsend Bay. This race is a highlight of the festival and showcases the performance of traditional sailing vessels and the collective skill of their crewmembers. Schooners, characterized by their distinctive rigging with two or more masts, have long demonstrated impressive speed and maneuverability, whether as part of historic coastal fishing fleets or raced recreationally. Space is limited.
Sound Experience Member discounts are available for this sail.
