Woodworking One Day Course: Build Bookcase or Free Standing Shelf West Auckland's RE: MAKER SPACE, Thursday, 30 Jan, 9.30 am to 3.30 pm
Event description
Proudly brought to you by Auckland Council Waste Solutions!
For tweens and teens aged 10 - 16
This one-day course is a great opportunity to spend quality time in a woodworking workshop, to develop their design thinking and to create a functional and beautiful bookcase or free standing shelf.
In this workshop, teens will learn to use a drill and sander plus hand tools in detail. They will create, design and assemble their own free design wooden masterpiece.
Using wood off-cuts, participants will get to give a second life to materials that may have otherwise ended up in the landfill.
This day will be about fun, sustainability and skill-building.
Note: Participants need to wear old clothing that can get paint on it and closed-toe shoes.
Note: Please bring snacks, lunch, and a drink bottle
When: Thursday 30 January, 9.30am - 3.30pm
Where: The West Auckland's Re: Maker Space: 6 Westgate Drive, Massey, Auckland 0614
