Woody weed control workshop
Description
NEW DATE OCTOBER 30
Is your backyard harbouring invasive weeds?
Lots of unsuspecting locals have woody weeds growing in their gardens, which can easily escape and wreak havoc on the environment.
This workshop is a great opportunity to learn about woody weed identification and practical control methods.
Come along for a free BBQ lunch at Mullinmur Wetland and join a walk and talk with the Bangerang Ngalan Bitja Ranger Team who will demonstrate some of the tools and methods they use to take out some of the worst weeds in Australia.
This activity is part of Platy Patch - A Victoria-wide Platypus recovery initiative jointly funded by the Australian Government's Natural Heritage Trust under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, the Victorian Government, and Melbourne Water, under the guidance of the Arthur Rylah Institute (ARI), with the support of One Tree Planted, City of Ballarat, Coliban Water, Zoos Victoria and Catchment Management Authorities.
This part of the project is led by the North East Catchment Management Authority and delivered in collaboration with Bangerang Aboriginal Corporation, Wangaratta Landcare and Sustainability and Rural City of Wangaratta.
