Word Nerds Vol. II - Money & Food

Word Nerds is an exciting new format - it's a Comedy Quiz Panel show for people who love words, language, etymology, puns and wordplay. It's very interactive, hopefully informative, and there's a chance to win a few prizes too.

If it's your first time booking, make sure you add a Word Nerds Bookmark to your ticket so you can start collecting stickers!

You don't need to bring anything except an open mind, as well as a few interesting words or phrases related to the topic to discuss.

This show's themes are Food & Money. Every 5 stickers you earn nets you a reach into the Prize Bag where you can win various vouchers for local hospitality places.

In a nutshell, if you never miss a day of Wordle, love Guy Montgomery's Spelling Bee, follow Merriam Webster on Instagram, or Dictionary Corner is your favourite part of 8 Out of 10 Cats, this event is for YOU!

It's a show of two halves where each half has a theme. Our resident Word Nerds Taylor & Grant will each bring 3-5 unique or interesting words related to the theme.

You can earn stickers by correctly stating the definition, language of origin or etymology for each word, with a bit of banter in between.

Then, as a bit of fun, we'll collectively come up with some new definitions for nonsense words a la The Meaning of Liff.

Finally, we’ll have intermission where you'll be given a worksheet with things like poems, spot the mistakes, mad libs, etc and then we do it all again with the second theme.
