Event description

Welcome to Words Worth You,

This is a space for expression, active listening, poetry, music, stories, fun, reflection, community, silliness, sincerity and connection.

This is our fifth event and I'm so excited to welcome you.

Words Worth You features both open mic performances and a new collaborative creation made by all attending our events -

The poem our audience created at our last session:

"With the clear and shattering vision of so many crystal dreams

Reality's hand led, by unrealised Stockholm syndrome - showing its intertwining paths

Reality's hand led by me

My steps in this dance tentative, unsure, unlike the free and whirling motions of Reality

I am Sylvia Plath with her fig tree chopped up into firewood

I am Walt Whitman and every single multitude that a thought can contain

Wait, stop, Everyone!

I've never written a poem before!

I just came tonight for a bit of fun!

Yet words twitch the ends of my thumb

Which is cool but also like how are they doing that?

Reality's hand has gone elsewhere.

Reality has a hand in everything and is hand in glove with alternative, co-existing whitmanesque multitudes and Sylvia plathitudes.

Where did all of these humongous words come from? Surely not I.

I just woke up, the year is 3000

And yet the issues, the essence, the direction is unchanged"

The chosen line and prompt for next session is:

Reality's hand has gone elsewhere.

There will also be food and refreshments, and hopefully a lot of joy! The ticket price goes straight to the venue and the running costs of our events.

As always if you would like a spot on our line up get in touch:

How to get there:

Mesh has quite a non-descript entrance, it is the door on the left hand side of the road under the rail bridge.
