Event description
Words Worth You 3
24th July 7 - 11pm
231 Gorbals Street
A magic number?
A crowd?
The number of days in a row I haven't fit in my yoga?
Most importantly our third iteration of our monthly celebration of poetry, performance, music and words.
In our last session one of our attendees described the night as a tonic.
I hope we can provide this to many more of you across many more evenings. This space is for people who want to express or see true expression from first time poets or experienced wordsmith wizards, in a safe, encouraging and inspiring environment.
Last time our community created this little piece:
Spoken softly as idle words between the trees at night
A home between leaves and a breeze within the glow
The gentle bud presents a new flower to the world
To be cut off at the head by a man who thought it was pretty
Fuck that man.
That man who stole beauty thinking it was his alone to own.
Alone, the stem shrivels and shrinks within the earth
My kin shall not look at him, rather eyes will look on
I'll keep my ears to the ground, I'll wait till he is in slumber.
or until the ground takes him too
Sleep well, callous gardener, I hope Jason gives you yours.
With our chosen line and prompt being:
"That man who stole beauty thinking it was his alone to own"
As ever you can help us out by spreading the word, signing up to The Mesh Collective mailing list, or buying a ticket to one of our events.
