Event description

Creating an Effective PM Strategy

One of the biggest drains on your tradespeople’s time is performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections and tasks that add little to no real value. Optimising your PM strategy ensures that maintenance efforts are focused on what truly enhances reliability and performance.

In this half-day workshop, we will:

  • Understand where your PM’s come from
  • Investigate why your PMs may not be preventing breakdowns
  • Discuss how components fail, and which maintenance type is best
  • Explore how technology should support your tasks
  • Be confident in using effective PMs to reduce stores stock

Outcomes

Attendees will leave this session with the tools and knowledge required to:

  • Assess the value of existing PM’s
  • Identify critical assets
  • Facilitate an RCM exercise
  • Calculate actual required stock holding

   LinkedIn Profile

Simon Murray has spent the last 25 years building, leading, and coaching high-performance maintenance teams in manufacturing.

In 2012, after many years of getting factories out of reactive mode, he started Your Maintenance Coach so that he could help more teams to be successful. With a goal of ensuring that no maintenance manager gets woken up in the middle of the night with the dreaded breakdown call and there is no blame and arguments in the daily operations meetings.

While Simon trains and coaches in all aspects of Reliability Excellence, planning and scheduling is the area where he spends most of his time. This is because he knows, after working with dozens of teams around the world, that it is this daily discipline that will form the foundation for all of your future improvements.
