Event description

Soapstone is a very soft, porous, metamorphic rock and your teacher Brittany will teach you how to carve it to make your own jewellery!

Working with precut blanks, Brittany will show you how to carve soapstone into a wearable pendant (or pair of earrings!). Because soapstone is so porous you can also colour it to enhance your design. During class you will have time to carve a few pieces, followed by an optional chance to colour your soapstone with watercolours.

Each step of the way will have a demonstration, from designing to carving, colouring, and putting the final touches on to make your pendant a necklace.

If you've ever wanted to make your own jewellery but haven't known where to start, then this class with Brittany is perfect for you! This jewellery class is totally beginner-friendly, bring a friend and enjoy an evening of fun soapstone carving!
