Let’s Talk: Workplace Mental Health with Michelle Kleinert OAM

Tuesday, 6 October 2026 | 12PM - 1PM (Melbourne time)

Online via Zoom | Free Registration

As part of Mental Health Foundation Australia’s 8th National Multicultural Mental Health Month, join us for an interactive Let’s Talk conversation about workplace mental health, psychosocial hazards and the role workplaces can play in creating safer, more supportive environments.

This year’s theme, “Supporting Women’s Mental Health Every Day,” invites us to look at the experiences that shape women’s wellbeing, including the psychosocial risks and challenges that can arise at work.

We’ll be joined by Michelle Kleinert OAM, an accomplished trainer, facilitator, former Mayor, public speaker and Mental Health Foundation Australia Ambassador, whose career spans local government, business, community leadership and mental health education.

Meet Michelle Kleinert OAM

Michelle brings decades of experience working with individuals, teams and organisations across diverse industries. Her empathetic and engaging approach, combined with qualifications in training, leadership and management, has supported positive change across workplaces and communities.

A passionate advocate for mental health education, Michelle became an accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor after completing the course herself, believing it was something everyone should undertake. In 2023, she was recognised as a Mental Health First Aid Australia Master Instructor.

Michelle has delivered 150+ Mental Health First Aid courses and helped raise more than $200,000 for mental health support. She was awarded an OAM for her service to local government and to the community of Melbourne.

What We'll Talk About

Hosted by Mental Health Foundation Australia, this practical conversation will explore:

  • What workplace mental health looks like today.

  • Understanding and managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace.

  • Why mental health skills matter for leaders, managers and teams.

  • How Mental Health First Aid training can help workplaces respond when someone may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

  • Creating workplace cultures where people feel safer to speak up and seek support.

  • The importance of supporting women’s wellbeing at work.

  • How workplace mental health training can create impact beyond the workplace.

Why book the Mental Health First Aid with us?

When you choose to book your Mental Health First Aid course through Mental Health Foundation Australia, your booking not only helps equip people with practical mental health skills but also extend access to support in the wider community.

Course revenue currently helps fund approximately 60 life-changing counselling sessions every month through our Wellness Hub. That means workplace training can create a ripple effect: building mental health capability at work while helping provide accessible support to people who need it.

Our goal is to grow this impact to 100 monthly supportive counselling sessions by the end of 2026.

Join the Conversation

Whether you're a business leader, manager, HR professional, team member or simply interested in creating healthier workplaces, this conversation is an opportunity to learn, ask questions and explore practical ways to support wellbeing at work.

This webinar is proudly presented by Mental Health Foundation Australia as part of the 8th National Multicultural Mental Health Month 2026.
