WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Learn how to assist adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
WHAT THE COURSE COVERS
Workplace Mental Health First Aid Blended Online, consists of 2 components:
- 5 to 7 hours of prework, just you and your computer working through the content till you receive a certificate stating Certificate 1 of Component 1complete. This is a pre-requisite that must be completed prior to meeting your instructor online on these dates.
- 2 x 2.5 hours online with your instructor
Topics covered include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
You will learn how and where to get help when a person is developing a mental illness, what help research has shown to be effective and how to provide first aid in crisis situations.
