    Enterprise Bargaining with the New Laws Masterclass

    Online Workshop: Tuesday, 21 March 2023 (half-day)

    Major changes to enterprise bargaining not only mean that employers with enterprise agreements will face new challenges, it also means many employers will end up, for the first time, dealing with unions and enterprise agreements.

    Managing bargaining and industrial relations issues in the workplace; content of enterprise agreements; dealing with unions (incl. industrial action) and managing associated cost and risk.

    This workshop will cover:

    • A summary of recent history of enterprise agreement making together with the Labor Government’s changes
    • Enterprise agreement basics, including:
      • benefits and challenges with collective bargaining
      • permitted and prohibited terms
      • correctly choosing staff and scope orders
      • understanding the BOOT and approval requirement steps
    • Dealing with right of entry
    • Managing lawful and unlawful industrial action, including:
      • responding to applications for Protected Action Ballot Orders
      • dealing with various types of industrial action (incl. partial work bans)
      • performance management arising from unlawful behaviour
    • Hot issues with enterprise agreements
