Event description

The Lilly Center is hosting an exciting event where guests will be taught how to create cyanotypes from our very own wetland! Erin Patton-McFarren, a local artist and high school art teacher, will share about her unique form of cyanotype photography using elements of nature. This photography technique captures sunlight interacting with your items of choice selected from the wetland resulting in a blue-and-white print on light-sensitive paper. The process is gentle on the environment and reflects the movement of wind, water, and sun in real time, resulting in a visually pleasing form of art.

Beginners and experienced artists are welcome to create their own cyanotype photography that reflects individual creativity. For nature enjoyers who are new to this art form, this event is a great opportunity to find new ways to admire familiar aspects of nature.

Join us at the Lilly Center before accessing the trail leading to the wetland. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. Tickets are $15 to cover materials. Spots are limited so RSVP today. Children at the event will need a participating adult. This workshop is from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on July 12. We look forward to seeing you on there!

This event is sponsored by the Zimmer Biomet Foundation and Depuy Synthes.
