At 2pm you will be led to the Level 2 dye lab space in Building 516. The workshop will be held in the dye lab space. After a short introduction by the workshop leaders, attendees will be divided into two smaller groups (up to 10 people) for dye lab activities. Hazards
Safety and Learning Accommodations: Please contact the organisers about any learning or communication accommodations and needs in advance. The workshop will include instructions and directions for activities, and some time for guided creative experimentation with natural dyes. For safety reasons, it is important that you understand and follow instructions, directions and guidance of the workshop leaders. Allergies: Latex-free gloves will be provided to work with natural dyes. If you have any known plant allergies, please contact the organisers in advance, and make sure to bring any personal medication that you may need.
Toilet location
There are accessible toilets next to the dye lab, on Level 2 of Building 516. There are also accessible toilets on the Ground Level of Building 514, which is close to the natural dye garden.
Accessible parking
Limited accessible car parking is available on campus. You can enter RMIT Brunswick campus via Gate C from Dawson Street in your car. Accessible parking spaces are available close to Building 516. You will see a large pink shipping container near the accessible car parking. There is other car parking nearby.
Sensory information
You will be part of a small group for dye workshop activities (up to 10 people) and will be in close proximity to other people as part of the workshop as the dye lab is a small space. The dye lab could be noisy due to talking and the sound of the extraction fans, which may need to be turned on for safe air circulation. The lights in the dye lab can be bright; some can be dimmed on request. Outside in the dye garden, there may be some loud noise from nearby construction work.
