Workshop on Willow, Glenorchy Sept 2026
Description
Last year the Willow Workshop was one of our most popular events so we are holding it again this year.
Come along for a Saturday morning at the Glenorchy Hall Supper room to learn all about Willow and how to make herbal remedies from this wonderful (and much maligned) plant. We will forage for willow wands and learn how to strip the bark which can then be used fresh or dried. Willow has so many benefits as it contains salicin - a natural form of aspirin. In fact in the old days our grandmothers would have reached for a willow bark tincture for treatment of pain, inflammation and fever where now we might get an aspirin from the bathroom cabinet. But willow bark is much less toxic than modern pharmaceuticals and has other amazing qualities you will learn about.
