Mon, 10 Feb 2025, 10am - 1pm AEDT

Event description

Join contemporary artist, Leah Bullen in this 3-hr workshop and discover two approaches to watercolour - direct watercolour painting (including traditional watercolour effects and colour mixing) and watercolour monotypes.

Monotypes are a hybrid process that combines the techniques and materials of drawing, printing and painting. The images are created by drawing or painting with water-based media onto a smooth surface. This image is then transferred to paper using a press. Unlike other printmaking techniques the resulting image is a 'one off' that cannot be repeated. Participants will prepare a plate, build an image with watercolour and run the plate through the press to create a print.

Leah Bullen will be exhibiting as part of our exhibition, The Water Understands, 13 Dec 2024 – 16 Feb 2025.

No prior painting or printmaking experience necessary and all materials are included. Please bring your own refreshments and apron.
