Workshop: Understanding financial elder abuse

This event has passed Register

Event description

Did you know that financial abuse is one of the most common forms of elder abuse? Older migrants and refugees can be particularly vulnerable due to a lack of awareness about the issue, and barriers to accessing services.

To help you learn more about financial elder abuse and how to support seniors, ECCV and Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic) are hosting an online information session on 8 February from 4pm-5.30pm.

This interactive workshop will provide information about seniors’ financial rights, and how seniors can access resources and support services, including financial counsellors.

This workshop is aimed at multicultural seniors’ group leaders, bicultural workers, and community leaders.

The speakers will be:

  • Lyn Dundon - Project Coordinator, Financial Counselling Victoria
  • Michele Padbury - Financial Counsellor, VincentCare Victoria

You must register to attend this session. Registrants will be provided with a Zoom meeting link.
