Workshop with Chung Nguyen
Event description
Join Chung Ngyen, Temperance Hall Front Studio Resident, for a workshop exploring their embodied creative process, embryonic fluid spaces and relational touch.
This workshop will be divided into two parts. In the first part, Chung will invite participants into his studio, where he will share some found objects, ideas, and creative processes that have informed his residency. In the second part, designed for embodied movement exploration, Chung will guide participants to explore the embryonic development of the front body (yolk sac), back body (amniotic sac), and middle body. Participants will then use this exploration as an entry point to develop their movement quality in space and with each other, using direct contact/touch.
No dance experience is required. Please bring water, a blanket or anything you need to keep yourself warm and comfortable for the whole activity.
Chung Nguyen (he/they) is a Vietnamese dance artist, somatic movement facilitator and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, with an interest in somatic and contemplative approaches to healing and performance.
Chung is a Temperance Hall Front Studio Resident for 2025.
The Front Studio Residency has been supported by the Neilson Foundation, the City of Port Phillip, the Palais Theatre Community Fund, private donors and the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
