Visual Arts in the Valley Festival 2026
Invites you to a Workshop with local artist Karen Barker.
Welcome to linocut printmaking! This relief printmaking process involves carving designs into linoleum blocks, applying ink to the carved surface and then transferring the design onto paper or other media through a printing process.
In this workshop, you will learn the fundamental techniques and skills needed to create your own linocut prints. Through instruction, demonstrations and hands-on practice, you'll gain an understanding of the linocut process, from design conception to final print.
Under guidance, students will learn how to handle carving tools effectively and safely to create detailed designs. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this linocut class offers a structured and nurturing space to enhance your skills and expand your artistic horizons and create your one-of-a-kind print.
All materials supplied to produce 1 A5 size Lino cut plate which will be printed up to 5 times with option to hand colour
Coffee tea and cake for sustenance also provided.
Please wear enclosed shoes and bring an apron and some ideas to print!
Address is Studio Dairy 910 Upper Kangaroo River Road Upper Kangaroo River (9km from start of road) on the right where Arts in the Valley flags will indicate where to drive in.
Drive in and park in the designated area next to the studio.
