World Bee Day - Bathurst Campus
Description
May 20th is World Bee Day! To celebrate, the Bathurst Campus Environmental Working Group (CEWG) is running a hands on event for our Bathurst Campus. This is with the support of the International Student Office, Student Connection and Sustainability at Charles Sturt. This event will also celebrate the 5 year anniversary since the establishment of the PK Pollinator and Community Garden.
The event will include
Garden Work & Propagation Lesson: Learn how to propagate plants using repurposed containers and discover ways to make your garden more pollinator‑friendly. Participants will get the opportunity to create propagated plants to take home and nurture, with additional plants set aside for planting in September as part of Biodiversity Month.
Craft Session: Get creative with pollinator-themed crafts to compliment your new addition
Morning Tea: Join us for morning tea and a sweet treat! Free cupcakes are available for propagation workshop participants or anyone who follows Sustainability at Charles Sturt on our socials.
Treasure Hunt & Prizes: Explore the pollinator garden through a fun treasure hunt for your chance to win amazing prizes, including stylish Frank Green water bottles and a Native Bee Hotel to install in your own backyard!
Waggle Dance: Join us to learn and perform the famous Waggle Dance at 12:30 PM. The performance will be recorded for social media!
This is a FREE event that is open to everyone! Students, staff and community members.
The event will be held outside Building 1413 (Rafters Bar): World Bee Day Event Location
