Business Western Sydney and Paddle Australia would like to invite you to a night of fun and celebration.
The Sydney 2025 Gala will unite global sport, government, business, and community leaders to celebrate the Canoe World Championships taking place in Penrith, 25th anniversary of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and the growing business and investment opportunities across Western Sydney.
Over six thrilling days, more than 300 athletes from 50 nations will compete for world titles across Canoe Slalom disciplines — C1, K1, and Kayak Cross. Among them will be Australian Olympic gold medallist Noemie Fox, alongside Paris Olympians Tim Anderson and Tristan Carter, leading the charge on home waters.
The Penrith Whitewater Stadium hosting this global event is part of the enduring legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. This event will be held exactly 25 years to the day of the closing ceremony of the Sydney Games. The Gala will feature Australian Olympic champions and leaders from the sports community to reflect on "the best Olympic Games ever” as we prepare for Brisbane 2032.
Western Sydney has grown by almost a million people since 2000 and is on the cusp of a critical moment in its development as the fastest growing region in NSW, with new metro infrusture being built and the new Western Sydney International Airport ready to open in 2026. The Gala will be an opportunity to hear about the global investment opportunities across the region.
