World Down Syndrome Day - Parliament House Event
Event description
World Down Syndrome Day - Parliament House Event
Join us for a special Afternoon Tea at NSW Parliament House to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. This event, hosted by the Hon. Kate Washington, Minister for Families and Communities, and Minister for Disability Inclusion, brings together Down Syndrome NSW members, families, and advocates to recognise the achievements, challenges, and future aspirations of people with Down syndrome across all life stages.
The theme of this year’s event focuses on the lifelong journey of individuals with Down syndrome and their families— from early diagnosis and becoming a new parent, transitioning through school, post-school transitions, and into adulthood and ageing. Families will share personal insights into celebrating milestones and achievements, as well as navigating the ever-changing landscape of supports, services, and opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity to raise awareness, celebrate inclusion, and strengthen our community’s voice in advocating for meaningful change. We warmly invite individuals with Down syndrome of all ages, along with parents, grandparents, siblings, and supporters, to be part of this important conversation.
Come and be part of this meaningful event as we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and continue working towards a more inclusive future.
