This September, World Dream Day Aotearoa will bring dreamers together for the very first time to celebrate the power of dreams and, most importantly, to start turning them into reality.

✨ What is World Dream Day?

World Dream Day is a global day dedicated to the power of dreams, ideas and possibility.

Held every year on 25 September, people around the world come together to declare, share, celebrate and activate their dreams. It is a reminder that dreams aren't just something we think about. They can be the starting point for meaningful change in our lives, our communities and our world.

The theme for World Dream Day 2026 is:

DREAM THE NEW

This year's global celebration is about deepening the dreams we hold, strengthening our connection with one another and collectively imagining a brighter future.

💫 And we're bringing that spirit to Aotearoa.

On Saturday 26 September, we'll gather in an incredible and meaningful location in Tāmaki Makaurau for a day of dreaming, connection, creativity and inspiration.

This isn't about having everything figured out.

You don't need a five-year plan. You don't need to know exactly how you're going to make your dream happen.

You just need to be willing to imagine what could be possible.

What to expect:

Your World Dream Day Aotearoa experience will include:

🌏 Sessions from the global World Dream Day celebrations, connecting us with dreamers and ideas from around the world.

✨ Interactive dreaming experiences designed to help you think bigger, get curious about what you really want and explore what's possible in your own life.

🎨 A creative Dream Affirmation Medal workshop with the Mindful Mender, creating something beautiful and meaningful to take home as a reminder of the dream you're choosing to believe in.

🎤 Special appearances from inspiring New Zealand dreamers, sharing honest stories about chasing their dreams, taking brave leaps and making things happen. Speaker details will be announced as they are confirmed.

🥗 A shared lunch and light refreshments, because some of the best conversations happen around a table. Bring a plate to share.

💗 And most importantly, a room full of people who believe that dreams matter.

People who are curious. Hopeful. Creative. Brave enough to want more. People who are building something, changing something, starting something or simply wondering what's next.

Oh, and did we mention we’ll be gathering at Hillary House, the former home of Sir Edmund Hillary, one of Aotearoa’s most iconic dreamers. It feels especially fitting that the first World Dream Day Aotearoa will take place in a place connected to someone who dared to imagine what others thought was impossible, and then went out and made it happen.

World Dream Day Aotearoa is the beginning of a new annual celebration in New Zealand, with an aspiration to grow into a nationwide day where communities across Aotearoa come together each year to dream bigger, share their stories and help one another turn possibility into action.

The in-person experience is limited to just 25 people, making this a truly special opportunity to be part of the first World Dream Day Aotearoa celebration in an incredible location.
