Event description

In 2024, UNAA Victoria partnered with Global Voices to take a delegation of young Australians to the World Food Forum in Rome.

Since attending the World Food Forum in October 2024, the Global Voices Policy Fellows have compiled their experiences and knowledge gained from the WWF into policy briefs that they will present. We will also hear from the WFF delegation leader Carlisle Richardson, UNAAV Board Member and former Ambassador of St Kitts & Nevis to the UN, and representatives from Global Voices.

Global Voices is a youth led not-for-profit, developing the next generation of Australian leaders to contribute to domestic and global decision-making and is the only organisation in Australia to offer a Policy Fellowship Program that provides in-person and hands-on experience in public policy and international affairs.

The World Food Forum (WFF) was launched in 2021 as a youth-led initiative organised by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

The WFF acts as a major youth platform in global food governance, and as a global think tank that fosters youth-led solutions. The forum brings together the next generation of students, farmers, scientists and entrepreneurs to enact change and gain the tools necessary for the transformation of global agrifood systems and to address climate change.

The Global Voices delegates scoped topics such as technology for sustainable argifood systems and climate action, fresh and nutritious food for remote communities and regenerative agricultural practices for soil, plant and human health.

Come and hear these insightful presentations (in person and online) and ask questions of our future leaders in a sector vital for the future of Australia and the world.

When: 5 March 2025

Time: 6pm - 7:30pm (Presentation starts 6:30)

Where: UNAAV office and online
