Get to know our local kangaroos and learn more about our national icon

Join Local Kangaroo Rescue Carer, Sarah "Yurpia" McCafferty on a journey where she will share her knowledge and love of this special unique iconic animal
Yurpia is a carer of kangaroos and wallabies and carries a strong connection to these special beings.
She has a strong passion for protecting wildlife especially the Eastern Grey kangaroo.

LEARN ABOUT:

  1. Kangaroo behaviors
  2. Species in your area
  3. Flora + fauna around kangaroos
  4. Family structures
  5. Kangaroo science

Afterwards,  a screening of "Kangaroo: A Love Hate Story" 
Learn about the harm the kangaroo meat and leather trade has done to these beautiful creatures and their way of life
De-bunking myths of 'pest control', exposing inhumane hunting practices and the lack of regulation in the meat trade

WARNING: Some of the content of this documentary can be quite confronting. Parental guidance is recommended for children.
