Event description

Mental Health is Everybody’s Business is all about improving mental health literacy, reducing stigma, and promoting help-seeking in the workplace. This 1-hour presentation is delivered by an experienced lived experience speaker and is aimed to inspire all of us to look after our wellbeing and take action when we’re not feeling ourselves.

This session covers:

  • The prevalence of mental illness in our community,
  • the causes, signs, and symptoms of common mental health conditions including depression, stress and anxiety,
  • what help is available inside and outside of the workplace

This presentation is delivered by Adam Sinclair. Adam is a counsellor and coach who divides his time between Melbourne and Byron Bay. He has nearly a decade of experience in crisis support with Lifeline, Red Cross and Switchboard.org supporting Australians and the queer community experiencing crisis and hardship. Adam was diagnosed with both depression and anxiety in his late twenties that would persist throughout his adult life. Following his recovery, Adam began collaborating with the Blackdog Institute as a lived experience presenter to share his story, raise awareness and reduce the stigma around talking openly about a struggle so many of us share in silence.
