Event description
World Refugee Day: Stories from the field
In the lead up to World Refugee Day, join RedR Australia on Thursday, 19 June from 11:30am-12:30pm (AEST) for a thought provoking discussion about humanitarians working to support people and communities living as refugees.
This session, hosted by RedR Australia's Sally Cunningham, will discuss the experiences from the field for humanitarian civil engineer Greg Blaze, and accountability to affected populations advisor Ozlem. Our expert panel will discuss the unique challenges from their time in Somalia and Bangladesh, touching on innovative solutions, the profound impact of engineering work in humanitarian settings, highlighting how technical expertise can transform lives and communities.
In line with this year's World Refugee Day theme of solidarity, we'll explore how the engineering and humanitarian communities can stand with refugees - not just with words, but through meaningful action and professional expertise.
Join us to hear these important stories from the field and discover how your expertise could contribute to durable solutions.
All ticket purchases will go towards a donation to RedR Australia for our humanitarian deployments and training projects.
