'South Of Sydney' Touring Circuit presents...

WORLDS COLLIDE
with very specials guests...

SUNDAY 27th OCTOBER 2024
4pm - THE SERVO, PORT KEMBLA

Straight out of the urban jungles of Western Sydney... Riffs, Rhymes and Culture.

Worlds Collide is the intersection of our multicultural nation, seven cultures coming together creating new contemporary Australian music. They weave a global and contemporary sound into their infectious music, fusing culture, hip hop rhymes, grooves, melodic hooks and languages into a fun, authentic and powerful experience.

The seven-piece outfit couldn’t be more diverse if it tried. Featuring Uyghur bard Shohrat Tursun whose vocal power channels the ancients from the Silk Road, Yaw Derkyi (Ghana) on percussion and vocals, Uruguayan drummer Juan Andres, Ian 'Esky' Escandor (Philippines) is emcee with Maria Mitar on vocals. Alongside Western Sydney sound pioneer Richard Petkovic producer/guitarist, is award winning bassist Jonathan Nanlohy, from Ambon, Indonesia.

At the core of their message is inclusivity, cultural pride, and a celebration of diversity, with their music elevated by the socially conscious rhymes of ESKY MC from the streets of Mount Druitt, making them uniquely Australian. Their live set packs a powerful punch erupting audiences into enthusiastic dance, call and response and chants.

From their debut performance on a car park rooftop at the immersive Sydney Sacred Music Festival launch in 2017, to the launch of their ARIA nominated Album, Global Community, they have steered an impressive trajectory through their own hard work and independent commitment.

A little more info here about the 'SOS Touring Circuit'

Sacred Currents is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new music touring circuit, bringing live music experiences to audiences south of Sydney, an opportunity to showcase exciting contemporary culturally diverse music, support local artists and music venues in the regions.

Richard Petkovic, Sacred Currents Inc Artistic Director: “This Circuit will raise the profile of great venues South of Sydney that are supporting the live music scene and connect them together locally and nationally. It will build sustainable touring opportunities for artists and encourage tourism to these unique places.”

The Circuit kicks off in March, with True Vibenation taking their conscious, soulful hip hop and afro-funk around the Circuit,14 –17 March.

Here at The Servo, we're thrilled to be a part of this amazing initiative and bring more awesome music to our local community. I am excited to hook up with other great venues in the region to show off our local music scenes to a wider audience. For the True Vibenation show, we are working with some of Port Kembla’s unique offerings to create a whole day of great experiences for new comers to the area

The SOS touring circuit loop includes: Campbelltown Arts Centre, The Servo Port Kembla, El Horses Nowra, The Goulburn Club (Goulburn), The QBN Hive Queanbeyan, Bowral Bowling Club and the Pratten Park Bowling Club Ashfield all working together to showcase their venues and local artists.

Richard Petkovic, Sacred Currents Inc Artistic Director: “We have a great bunch of venues and we are looking to include more venues in the Circuit. This initiative is about helping the local venues thrive as well as supporting artists. So, if you are south of Sydney and running a venue, come and join us”.
