Worm-Compost for Natives and other Plants
Event description
Presenter: Christel Mathelot
Worm-Compost is a low physical human input, nutrient dense, microbially rich compost which mimics nature. It requires no turning, only layering with a variety of organic ingredients.
Come along and join us for a hands-on workshop where we will set up some Worm-Compost beds for Trillion Trees to manage their organic waste.
In this workshop you will learn:
1. What is living soil?
2. What is living water?
3. What are the benefits of Worm-Compost?
4. What is the difference between worm-casting leachate (wee), worm-casting extract and worm-casting slurry?
5. How to make compost designed for specific plants: natives, food crops and fruit trees.
Trillion Trees would like to thank Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council who are funding this project.
What to Bring:
Garden gloves, hat, water bottle, closed shoes and preferably wear pants.
