Event description

SEE Change Tuggeranong and the Uniting Church Tuggeranong invites you to attend this Worm Farming at Home Workshop as part of SpringFest.

Did you know that in Australia, one tonne of waste per person ends up in Landfill every year? The majority of household waste is organic, and it's not really waste at all. Through worm farming, we can recycle food waste into an organic fertiliser to in turn grow more food!

In this SpringFEST talk, Cid Riley from Global Worming will be presenting options for recycling organic waste at home including:

- Where to start

- What is best for my household

- Basics for setting up composting and a worm farm at home

- Maintenance and renovation of home worm farm systems

There will be lots of time to ask questions or share your own experiences!

Cid Riley is an economist who has been a vermiculturist (worm farmer) for over 20 years. From 2000 he followed his true passion establishing Global Worming, focussed on using worm farms to convert food waste into an organic fertiliser. Through many years of trial and error, Cid developed a modular worm farm system suitable for commercial operations.

Everyone is welcome to attend this workshop. Numbers for this event are capped to 20. The workshop will be held outdoors in the grounds of the Uniting Church 17 Comrie street in Erindale .

The Neighbourhood Centre is located inside the church grounds just adjacent to the church main entrance. It's located on the corner of Sternberg & Comrie streets.

There is no parking available in the Church car park.

You are welcome to wear a face mask. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have been a close contact of someone with COVID-19.
