Desley’s mother, Eileen, experienced three evacuations from her residential aged care home during major flooding. Desley will share what those experiences meant for Eileen and her family.

Nick Ryan | Residential aged care provider

Nick is CEO of Lutheran Services, a Queensland provider of residential aged care and other community and human services. He’ll share the provider perspective on preparing for emergencies, supporting residents and maintaining care and communication when disruption occurs.

Annabelle Johnstone | Human and Social Recovery Practitioner and Churchill Fellow

Annabelle’s Churchill Fellowship investigated the human and social impacts of disasters on aged care facilities and their residents. She’ll share insights from her research and what residents and families should know before an emergency.
