WOW Walking Club - July
Event description
In this monthly outdoor clinic we will begin with some grounding exercises to unify body and mind, and consider how to use our senses to walk with appreciation and wonder. You’ll get some helpful tips about balance, posture, energy, and flow in walking well. Amy will offer optional, individualized hands-on guidance based on her 35+ years of teaching the Alexander Technique and mindful movement coordination.
Then we will walk (together or on your own) for about a half an hour. No cell phones, no earphones or music, no specific destination to reach. Just mindful embodiment that will open you up to the goodness that surrounds you. It’s a way to heal “nature deficit disorder,” and come back into balance with both our inner landscapes and the outer environment.
Along the way we’ll share our discoveries, sustaining the nourishment we get from walking in community, coming to our senses with our minds in motion.
