Saturday 11th October 2025
Join us for lunch from 1.00 PM, our Branch AGM at 1.30 pm, followed by talk by WPSQ's Tamielle Brunt who will talk about the rakali - see below on why we should care about this fabulous animal.
Meet the rakali—Australia's little otter. This native water rat is often mistaken for common rodents, but these golden-bellied swimmers play a vital role in our waterways. Thanks to a grant from the Brisbane Airport Community Giving Fund, Dr. Tamielle Brunt from Wildlife Queensland is raising awareness and appreciation for this misunderstood species. Join us to learn more about the recently voted number 1 Australia most underrated animal!
