WRIQ Webinar (Nov 2023) - Queensland Waste Data System

The Department of Environment and Science recently published its first interactive online platform of Queensland’s recycling and waste data.

This platform is the department’s first iteration of the platform and sources information about waste recovery, recycling and disposal in Queensland that is collected through the annual waste data survey as well as the monthly waste levy returns from landfill operators.

The data is:

• used by government and industry to measure Queensland’s recovery, recycling and disposal performance and inform planning and decision making.
• used in the annual Recycling and waste in Queensland report which summarises Queensland’s recovery, recycling and disposal performance.

The platform provides a readily-available portal for industry and community stakeholders to create customised and interactive reports to answer their recycling and waste questions.

In this webinar, representatives from the Department of Environment and Science will provide an update on the interactive recycling and waste platform that will be of particular benefit for WRIQ members.
