WRIQ Draft Queensland Waste Strategy Industry Consultation (June 2025)
Event description
WRIQ invites waste and recycling industry stakeholders to join us at a lunch with The Hon. Andrew Powell MP, Minister for the Environment and Tourism and senior representatives from the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation to discuss the draft Queensland Waste Strategy 2025 - 2030, released on 1 May 2025.
The draft strategy sets the strategic framework for boosting the economy and reducing the impact of waste on the environment through better management of waste products and materials. The consultation also seeks feedback on the waste levy settings. To view the draft please visit: https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/circular-economy-waste-reduction/strategy-plans/draft-waste-strategy.
This is a great opportunity to reset waste and recycling in Queensland, to create an environment that drives innovation and business investment, and to rebuild trust with Queenslanders in our industry's ability to deliver great outcomes for Queensland. Your input is critical to ensure that the Strategy is comprehensive, effective, and aligned with the needs of the industry.
