Write Back to a Burning World: Satire workshop
Event description
Hosted by Alex Cothren, author of Playing Nice Was Getting Me Nowhere.
Feeling paralysed by the state of the world? Want to create art that bites back? Enjoy laughing? This is the event for you.
A one-hour workshop on writing satire from Alex Cothren, master of the short form, who will walk you through the basics and explain why satire's good for the soul (and maybe for the world too).
Put down your phone, crack open a brand new exercise book (provided) and dive into some creative work. We'll have frog cakes on hand, and you'll also be able to browse new-release books from Pink Shorts Press and take in Yarns, a SALA exhibition of weavings by Helen Bennetts and Cathy Charnock. Then spend some time exploring the other creative businesses upstairs in historic Adelaide Arcade.
This event is held as part of Adelaide Arcade’s Iconic + Local event, in partnership with Brand SA for Buy SA Week.
Tickets are free but essential, as spots are limited.
