Writer Workshop - QECSN Term Two Network Meeting
Event description
QECSN will be hosting a Writers Workshop, led by the very talented Andrea Baldwin.
Andrea is a psychologist and author who holds PhDs in Psychology and Creative Writing and a Masters in Drama.
Andrea manages the Birdie’s Tree initiative for Children’s Health Queensland, helping young children and families cope with natural disasters. She has authored or co-authored a range of healing and helping stories for children aged 0 to 12.
This workshop is for educators who are interested in using narrative forms to support children through difficult experiences.
It will be useful for educators who want to make more effective use of existing stories and books for children, those who enjoy creating stories with children, and those interested in producing stories for children.
Participants will be supported to consider traditional elements of storytelling (such as character, setting and plot) in the context of young children’s
development, mental health and emotional wellbeing.
