Writers Unleashed 2026 - Sutherland Shire Writers Festival

After a four-year hiatus, the popular Writers Unleashed Festival, presented by the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW) Sutherland Shire, returns in 2026, bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever.

Established in 2009, Writers Unleashed has built a reputation for championing emerging and local writers while connecting audiences with some of Australia’s most respected authors, editors and publishing professionals.

This year is no exception.

Our curated, full-day program includes author talks and panel discussions, writing workshops and professional presentations, and manuscript consultations with leading editors and publishers. We will also be announcing the winners of the Writers Unleashed Picture Book Competition at the Festival.
