Writing impactful abstracts
Event description
Convened by Associate Professor Nick Hopwood as an online workshop.
Abstracts are high-stakes texts. They influence editors, reviewers, and may persuade your audience to download and read your whole paper (or even cite it!). Writing a truly impactful abstract that serves diverse purposes is challenging. This workshop will present a framework that can be used to enhance abstract-writing. It can also be used as a tool to figure out how to write multiple publications from the same study, including writing from transdisciplinary work, or from doctoral research.
This workshop will be relevant to HDR through to MCR researchers across all disciplines and with a range of publishing experience.
Participants should have a digital copy of an abstract they have written ready to share during the workshop.
