Virtual: Zoom
Sunday, December 21st @9.30am-11:00am
Age Group: 18+
Level: All Levels
Description: The winter solstice will occur at 10:03 AM EST on Sunday, December 21st. Take a break from end-of-year deadlines and holiday preparations to honor this moment -- releasing darkness and celebrating light in your life. We'll use gentle chair yoga to settle into creative writing with winter-solstice-inspired prompts. There will be an opportunity to share your writing, if you feel so inspired, and celebrate the writing of others. We'll close class with a collective candle lighting ritual to welcome new lights into our creative writing life. (Feel free to bring your own candle to share in the ritual!)
About the facilitator: Carolyn Fallert has over five years of dedicated practice in creative nonfiction. In 2024 and 2025, Kenyon Review selected Carolyn for their Residential Writers' Workshop. When she’s not writing, Carolyn teaches chair yoga in her local community. Carolyn is currently writing a memoir about learning self-defense.
