Event description

This Writing Roundtable will dive deep into what it takes to succeed at social media marketing and networking as a fiction writer. Our guests include authors at all levels of writing experience who have found success on various platforms including Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. They'll share things like:

How to balance marketing time and writing time
How to create effective social media marketing posts
How to build community with readers AND writers on social media

This event is hosted by the Weeknight Writers Group, a social enterprise  dedicated to providing affordable and accessible support for authors. The first hour and a half will be devoted to questions from our Sustaining Members and the panel moderators. If you want to make sure your question is prioritized, you can sign up for a Sustaining Membership - it starts at just $1.50/month (and at higher tiers you can get free entry to ALL our Writing Roundtables!)

There will be live captions at the event thanks to our partnership with Renaissance Press, a Canadian publisher dedicated to uplifting diverse voices.

Meet our panelists

C.M. Lockhart, a Black woman with green hair smiling with a forest backdrop behind her

C. M. Lockhart writes stories about Black girls who aren’t all that nice. Her debut novel, We Are the Origin, was released in June 2022 and its sequel, We Are Dying Gods, was released August 2023. She is the founder of Written in Melanin LLC, which encompasses a podcast and YouTube channel of the same name, and the Melanin Library, an online database of books written by Black authors. More information can be found on her website, https://WrittenInMelanin.com.

Dianna Gunn, a purple haired white woman with a grey backdrop behind her

Dianna Gunn is a freelance SEO writer, digital marketing consultant, indie author, podcast producer, and about 18 other things. Her first fantasy horror novel, Moonshadow's Guardian, was published in 2018 and her short stories have since appeared in the Nothing Without Us, Too and Broken Olive Branches anthologies.

Ruth Anna Evans, a smiling white lady with greying hair and glasses

Ruth Anna Evans is a horror writer, anthologist, publisher, and cover designer who lives in the heart of all that is sinister: the American Midwest. She has self-published the horror collections OH FUCK OH FUCK IT HURTS and No One Can Help You: Tales of Lost Children and Other Nightmares. She is the editor of Ooze: Little Bursts of Body Horror, two spooky novellas, and medical horror novella, Against Medical Advice. Ruth Anna loves horror that hurts.

C.N. Rowan, a white man holding his fist out with a colourful graphic background

Award-winning author of the imPerfect Cathar series, C.N. Rowan (“Call me C.N., Mr. Rowan was my father”) came originally from Leicester, England. Somehow escaping its terrible, terrible clutches (only joking, he’s a proud Midlander really), he has wound up living in the South-West of France for his sins. Only, not for his sins. Otherwise, he’d have ended up living somewhere really dreadful. Like Leicester. (Again – joking, he really does love Leicester. He knows Leicester can take a joke. Unlike some of those other cities. Looking atyou, Slough.)
