    Event description

Unlock the transformative power of creative writing to relieve climate grief and gain more agency. Whether you're an environmental activist, outdoor enthusiast, or simply love nature, the weight of climate change and environmental loss can affect us all.

In this engaging workshop, draw inspiration from environmental and nature poets as you use creative writing prompts to express and transform your pain, sadness or despair into greater love, care, and empowerment.

Connect with fellow participants experiencing climate/eco grief, where you'll have the chance to your work in a supportive environment. No creative writing experience is necessary, and sharing is optional.

What are the benefits of writing?

As well as being cathartic, writing has been shown to

    • reduce stress
    • improve mood
    • boost physical health
    • help you gain a deeper insight and understanding of your thoughts and feelings

    What a previous participant said:

"I feel lighter, like I am not carrying the grief so close to my body.
Writing it puts it outside of me.
    I become an observer.
Writing gives me a story and that gives me agency.
    Agency gives me hope.
Hope in the present gives me power in the future."

“I felt hopeful after the workshop. Walking with my grief had me feeling alone, but this workshop has given me tools to start writing again.”
