Description

Most sporting organisations have well-established approaches to physical safety, safeguarding, and wellbeing.

Far fewer have considered what protection looks like online.

Athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers are increasingly exposed to abuse, harassment, and harmful online behaviour. Much of it goes unseen. Yet its impact on wellbeing, confidence and participation can be significant.

In this session, Freedom2hear will explore the realities of online harm in sport, the groups most affected, and the practical steps organisations can take to better protect their communities. Drawing on examples from Welsh and international sport, we'll examine how safeguarding responsibilities are evolving and why protecting emotions online has become an important part of protecting people.
