Wugularr Flood Recovery Fundraiser - 2026

Help Wugularr families and school staff rebuild after severe flooding in the Katherine and Big Rivers region.

The Wugularr region is currently impacted by significant flooding. Many students and staff in Wugularr have seen their homes damaged or made unlivable. Wugularr School is now serving as a shelter for community members who cannot return home, and the clean‑up and recovery will take time.

After speaking with School Principal Stephen Hill, we are collecting donations to support the families and staff most affected.

Every contribution makes a difference.

What your gift could help provide

• $30 — essential toiletries, fuel, and phone credit for urgent needs

• $75 — a food and hygiene pack for a family

• $150 — bedding, clothing, and children’s essentials

• $300+ — support for temporary accommodation, furniture, repairs, and recovery

These are examples intended to show the impact of your donation. Funds will be directed to the most urgent priorities identified by the school and community.

How funds will be used

• Immediate relief for families and staff most affected

• Food, fuel, clothing, and essential items

• Temporary accommodation and home repair support

This appeal is being coordinated in consultation with Wugularr School Principal, Stephen Hill. Funds will be transferred to Wugularr School for distribution by school leadership and community elders in line with community priorities.
