Dill Pickle Club: Ashore, All to Pieces Listening Party with Where Water Meets
Description
Join Yyan and Emily of Where Water Meets for an evening of communal deep listening at Dill Pickle Club.
Where Water Meets have recently finished their second album, Ashore, All to Pieces, after many years of composition and recording in loving detail.
Emily and Yyan will tell the stories and musical influences of the album, as well as playing tracks off the album in the beautiful sound system of Dill Pickle Club. The album is not yet available online, so this is a chance to hear the stunning recordings crafted by sound wizard Al Future.
Ashore, all to pieces is an immersive chamber-folk album about what carries us through longing, loss and regret.
Drawing on remote places as emotional landscapes, the music is anchored in Tasmanian stories, wilderness and place, unfolding from moments of intimate reflection into expansive, emotionally intense orchestral soundscapes. The album is inspired by the stories we carry, the poetry of Rumi, New Zealand playwright Violet Targuse, and John Cook's memoir The Last Lighthouse Keeper.
