WYBIE 'WHITE DOG' launch @ Lazy Thinking
Event description
WYBIE is the brainchild of Naarm/Melbourne based songwriter, guitarist and producer Kyle Muir. Wybie’s wonky indie-rock draws from music all over the globe and has been likened to artists ranging from Radiohead to Ali Farka Touré to Joni Mitchell.
After almost 2 years, Wybie returns to Eora/Sydney for a solo performance at Lazy Thinking to launch 'White Dog', the first single off the upcoming EP 'Ashbourne'. 'White Dog' serves as a dedication to Muir’s late grandfather as well as a reminder to reconnect with memory, family and country.
Joining Wybie to complete the showcase of songwriters is...
EBS
EBS (solo project of Ebony Tait) is an alternative folk artist based in Eora/Sydney. Having spent the first 10 years of her life in Russia, she started learning music via Russian folk songs, a steadfast influence to this day. She has always been drawn to layered, warm-cup-of-tea sounds, with a broad range of influences.
Gene Gibson
Gene Gibson's quirky re-hashed folk-rock is an underbed for emotional confessions spanning love, loss and regret, occasionally hitting the funny-bone of Americana. Sharing his damning indictments of the capitalist machine and odes to the golden age of pub rock, Gene Gibson is classic song writing in the 21st century.
