Event Description

Be part of planting the Wyong Creek Tiny Forest – a living legacy for people and planet!

Planted using the Miyawaki Method, this tiny forest will grow quickly into a vibrant patch of native bushland, supporting local wildlife, providing cool shade, and bringing our community together.

Tiny Forests are fast-growing, densely planted native forests that help restore biodiversity, cool the land, and create thriving community spaces.

After our morning of planting, we’ll gather for a community lunch at Cedar Brush Creek Tiny Forest to celebrate its 1st Birthday and amazing growth.

What is the Miyawaki Method?

The Miyawaki Method is a planting technique developed in Japan by botanist Dr Akira Miyawaki. It involves densely planting a diverse mix of native trees and shrubs in enriched soil to echo the layers of a natural forest. As the plants compete for sunlight and resources, the forest grows up to 10 times faster than conventional plantings, creating a self-sustaining, biodiverse ecosystem in just a few years.
