DEVILLE PRESENTS: XCOMMUNICATE
A year and a half ago and under her Dysfunctional Disco brand, local legend Pino teamed up with COMMUNICATE (the deadly duo of Heylady and Cyril Orson) for a one nighter at DeVille that tore the roof off.
As we roll into summer, we thought we’d reunite them for one more night, this time we’re going to XCOMMUNICATE them. And all of you, so get ready.
COMMUNICATE was formed 4 years ago by underground legends Cyril Orson and Heylady. Born from the desire to play together, the duo have toured across Aotearoa playing some of our biggest festivals and most well known event and club spaces. Leaving a trail of memories and rinsed dancefloors in their wake, they have garnered a reputation for floor-shaking sets that are mixed to perfection.
This year has seen the advent of XCOMMUNICATE RECORDS, with two releases out already and more on the way, the label is shining a light on some on New Zealand’s freshest electronic talent. On top of this, the pair also run the beloved Sunday session, A Love From Outer Kingsland, Tāmaki Makaurau’s longest running club night, SonikTonik and their XCOMMUNICATE club night.
Pino is a rare specimen. Known for her vibrant and layered three-deck sets, she weaves magic with killer basslines and clever a Cappellas. Holding up the local scene with her dynamic party brand, Dysfunctional Disco, and touring across NZ, she has become a well known entity with a solid fan base from the far north to the mighty south. Playing everything from deep house sunrise sets to blistering 140BPM prime-time techno, she is a force majeure. If she’s on a lineup you can guarantee you’ll be dancing so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
On December 5 DeVille will be humming: expect a night of solid sound, visuals, top shelf beverages and more dancing than you can shake a stick at. Tickets are on sale now, grab yours from Humanitix, and join us for a night of unparalleled good times.
