Xicane Soup 4rom Le Soul is a radical Spanglish love letter to and from the decolonizing heart. Following the spiraling journey to the home ahead and the home within, this book of poetry explores the X as a welcoming intersection for every member of the community. Even if every poem does not float your fancy, dare to find your home in the flutter of the pages. Written by a butterfly with the privilege of a U.S. passport, this transnational poetry collection holds its authenticity in belonging both here and there. A poetic, queer reimagining of the Mexican-American Experience from a 20-something year old from West Chicago, who traveled from NY to Califaztlan to make a home in San Bernardino. 

About Josué Emmanuel:

Josué Emmanuel Muñoz Velasco (they/elle) is a proud IE-based transmedia storyteller, poet, and mindful media educator from West Chicago, IL. Since graduating from Syracuse University, they have shared their decolonizing journey through poetry, film, and teatro by building bridges on the way home. Raised bilingually, Josué’s nomadic spirit has loved engaging intergenerational community with poetry across Anahuac/turtle Island and beyond (East Coast to West Coast and North to South America).
