Event description

We're launching a new way to learn and connect with your youth sector colleagues! We would love to see you at our first Youth Sector Community of Practice (CoP) Session on Tuesday 14 October from 10:00AM - 12:30PM at the YACWA Office, East Perth (or online)!

This meeting will be led by Maxine Drake, an experienced education and health specialist advocate, sharing strategies on how frontline youth and community workers can advocate for young people navigating WA’s service system. Using her background in human rights, Maxine will share how we can go from standing by to standing up for young people in our lives.

The Youth Sector CoP sessions are a re-imaging of the ANY meetings, but with a focus on sharing knowledge and building our practice across the sector. They provide a platform for youth workers to come together, network, meet others in the sector, share information, learn from one another, and contribute to YACWA and others’ policy work.

Youth Sector CoP sessions are $40 for non-members, and free for YACWA’s individual and organisation members. You can save money by signing up here to be an individual member for only $38.50! Places are strictly limited to 20 in person and 30 online.

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance, and feel free to pass on the invitation to anyone else you think might be interested in attending. The agenda, online attendance information, and further details will be sent out closer to the meeting. For any questions, please contact Alicia at alicia@yacwa.org.au or Katie at katie@yacwa.org.au
