No Other Land 12th June

What Mubi says :

Palestinian activist Basel Adra documents the destruction of his community in Masafer Yatta under Israeli occupation. He forms an unlikely alliance with Israeli journalist Yuval. For years, they fight against mass expulsion—forging a complex bond haunted by the extreme inequality between them equality between them.

Yandoit Cinémathèque.

With so many options now to stream films online, this is a fantastic opportunity to come together in a magnificent old church to engage with cinema and stories together.

The films selected will be expansive, from classics from Europe and Hollywood to overlooked Australian Gems to vital Queer Cinema. We will explore films from various National Cinemas, parallel Independent Cinema, Indigenous Cinema and documentaries along the way. Contemporary classics will also feature, some overlooked, difficult to find and which deserve to be seen on the big screen.

A three week pass will be $24 giving you access to any three films at the Yandoit Cinematheque. Tickets will be available online and on the night via card payment.

There will be tea and coffee available and you are most welcome to bring some wine, beer, a hot thermos of tea or cacao to enjoy during the film. Naturally, popcorn is most welcome. Doors open at 7, the film commences at 7.30. Winter nights are here and we recommend bringing a pillow to sit on and a blanket for comfort. Looking forward to seeing everyone engaging with the world of cinema.
